Based on the application framework and model based development, Redgum are now starting to refine the development process to make it cleaner and more transparent, without requiring the management overhead or the large training times usually associated with formalisation.The net result of this is that our developers are now able to spend more time focusing on the actual business needs and requirements knowing that the bulk of the framework and "plumbing " has been taken care of. Lifecycle Tooling
There is a very different focus between "getting it out the door" in the first version, and knowing you are the one who is going to be maintaining it for the next 10 years with hundreds of users.We found that contractors and single job developers do not generally need to maintain systems they write, that is usually someone else's problem and it produces quite a different result.
Redgum's goal is to develop and support software right through its lifecycle, so we have developed and collected a wide range of tools which enable us monitor our software in the wild and respond to crashes very rapidly, in many cases responding to the client before they have realised there is an issue themselves.
